Wayne’s Pizza and Subs – Established 1989

In the late 80’s Wayne had worked in the auto industry for 22 years and was looking for a different path for employment. An opportunity arose in Blenheim to open a Pizza Take-out Restaurant and he decided to give it a try. He was the first business in a newly constructed strip mall built beside Blenheim District High School, the same location you can find him today. He started out with 6 employees and a basic menu selling pizza, panzerottis, and subs.

Even though the economy took a downturn shortly after in the early 90’s and the original franchise opportunity that started him out went into bankruptcy, Wayne was able to get out of his franchise agreement and continue successfully as to what we know today as Wayne’s Pizza and Subs. He attributes the community support and hard work from his staff to provide quality food as the driving force to survive.

In 2001, Wayne expanded his menu to include other popular items with the addition of a new fryer. This gave him the opportunity to expand the menu to what it has evolved into today.

His son Dan returned full time in 2009 to help in the ever-growing business and has gradually taken over management duties as Wayne entered into his semi-retirement after 30+ years.

Over the years the business has grown in many ways and expanded from a staff of 6 members to now at times 20+ employees. We have added and updated equipment to keep up with the changing environment and still strive to put out a quality product, for a reasonable price in the fastest amount of time.
